Service to God and Canada through membership in the Catholic Women's League of Canada has brought women into the light of God's love for all. We can go nowhere but forward to bring enrichment to the spiritual and corporal life of our parishes and their parishioners. The Catholic Women's League of Canada approved the formation of the Nova Scotia Provincial Council on February 25, 1948.
There are three diocesan councils within our Province - Antigonish, Archdiocese of Halifax and Yarmouth.
In addition, there are 85 Parish Councils. Our membership stands at 5,030 province-wide.
Message from our President...
Welcome to the Nova Scotia Provincial Website.
Our three dioceses have more than 5,030 wonderful dedicated women in 85 parish councils who continue to be true disciples of Christ within their parishes, their communities and across the province. These women are active in all aspects of parish and community life, working in the church and volunteering in many organizations in their communities.
Over the past few years our church has faced many difficulties, but we continue to be women who model our lives on that of our patroness, Our Lady of Good Counsel, by imitating her example in all that we do.
Our province has been richly blessed in the past year by having our National President from Nova Scotia with us for so many celebrations, the opening of a new church in the Halifax Diocese, installation of a new bishop for the Diocese of Antigonish, celebrating our 62nd provincial convention in the Yarmouth Diocese and increasing our overall membership.
We would like to extend an invitation to all women of our dioceses to join us and experience a sisterhood of faith, friendship, love and support on our journey of service to God and Canada.
Please keep all of our CWL members in your prayers as we carry out our mission statement of being an organization rooted in gospel values calling our members to holiness.
Mary MacDonald, Nova Scotia Provincial President
